The President's Desk

Hello Fellow Members,

If you are one of the members that worked at any of the functions, or work parties held at the club, or sold calendars to help raise money in 2007, many thanks to you. If you're not, then where have you been, we need your help.

We remodeled the gun range and enlarged it to 250 yards, and it's really first class. It took quite some time and a lot of work, and except for some finishing touches, it is done.

We held our first youth day, and boy was it a hit, not only with the kids but with everyone that attended it. With help from the PA Game Commission and several good members, this event was a great success. There were about 30 kids that participated. They participated in archery, fishing, the shooting of 22's, shotguns, and muzzle loaders. There was a trapping seminar and the Game Commission gave a safety talk on gun handling before the event. Special thanks to Tony Torres for chairing the event. Tony is already making money and planning for the 2008 youth day. You can view the photos in our web photo gallery.

Goals for 2008

1. Continue working on the conservation plan.

2. Hold 3 sportsman's challenges.

3. Complete the finishing touches to our new shooting range.

4. Continue with all events to make them bigger and better.

Membership Renewal Packets

Included in this year's membership packets, is your membership card for 2008. The small perforated tab on the side with 2008 on it should be signed and placed in your ID button, which is always to be worn when you are on club property. If you need a new ID button, you can get it at the meeting or by contacting the club secretary. Also on your membership card is a key number. This number will be the number that you need to get into the clubhouse. You will simply punch this number on a key pad at the door to get in.

Also included in this year's membership packet, you will find 3 vehicle stickers. Members are required to have an ID sticker on any vehicle that they are driving on club grounds. This included cars, trucks, quads, motorcycles, etc. The sticker must be visible. If you need more than 3, you can get them at the meetings or from the club secretary.

The keys to the  locks on the gates at the range and lake WON'T be changed this year, but keys will be available at the club meetings, or you can purchase one from Will Kopa at Marsh's Hardware. You MUST show a 2008 membership card to purchase the keys at Marsh's.
